The window has changed considerably in the modern Indian home. As residences move towards wider glass panels, double-height living spaces, larger balconies and views opening onto gardens and landscapes, aluminium windows and doors are being asked to do more than frame an opening.

Bigger openings, higher demands
The growing preference for expansive glazing has put greater pressure on the engineering behind aluminium windows and doors. A large sliding panel, for instance, requires the profile, rollers, locks and other hardware to handle considerably more weight than a conventional residential shutter.
Glazing specifications are equally important. The selected aluminium system must be compatible with the intended glass and opening dimensions while maintaining structural integrity and ease of operation.
Weather performance is another consideration. In areas exposed to monsoon conditions, effective drainage, sealing and resistance to water penetration can be as important as the visual appeal of a slim frame. Air infiltration and dust protection also become relevant, particularly in urban homes.
